At the beginning of the match, the Lash player logged out of the game, which becomes important later.
On the first round, I died right as the first guardian was destroyed. At that exact moment, Lash reconnected to the game and started selecting items; I was spectating him at that time. The round ended while Lash was still selecting items and while I was still spectating him. From the start of the next round—and for all upcoming rounds—the item selection screen was disabled for me. To be clear, the entire interface was gone, not just a specific icon or animation.
After that, I could only select items when I was dead and spectating Lash specifically. Even then, all item icons were disabled, though the "revolver" screen and highlights remained visible.
