I just started playing Deadlock last night and I did not have this issue up until the newest update dropped sometime today. Originally, ALT + Z was my bind to upgrade ability 4. This is not an issue with NVIDIA overlay as I had completely disabled that function. Even when I had that on by accident yesterday, the keybind would still register. Strangely, R.ALT + Z doesn't work either, but both attempts to add "z" to the keybind only register the first input. I tried to see if it might've been specific to that one function, but the bind doesn't register at all for any keybind.
SHIFT + Z / CTRL + Z register perfectly fine though.
Edit: I'm unsure if "Extra Info" is a new feature; I bound that to something else as that is bound to ALT by default. Still ran into the same issue regardless.
