Banned due to map file corrupted - Unable to verify game files in time

Loaded into a game, game complained about the map file being corrupted, CTD.
The check is stuck at "Downloading content 0%", restart PC, try again and after a few minutes it updates.
get back in game and get greeted with this message:

I never leave any game, when detecting the invalid file integrity on loading can we maybe not ban the player? I assume the players in the lobby will be sent back to the main menu either way as one player (me in this instance) was unable to load in time.

Many of us are having this issue, really hoping it will be resolved soon. It happened to my partner so many times he got a 24 hour ban, and is in low-priority matchmaking.

I have also been having this issue and have been stuck in low priority with a thrower on my team every single game. The game is starting to become unenjoyable at this point. They need to find a way to fix this bad.

just had this issue happen to me, failed to load in with friends as well as another member of our group. Had to restart my pc and came back to a temp ban till 8 but my friend who also had the same issues wasn't banned. Hopefully this issues is fixed soon idk if i want to keep playing if its going to be like this

Haven’t had this myself but bumping it because this is a game breaking bug.

Just literally had this happen to me too, I'm banned now for two hours despite this being the game's fault. I had the same corruption file issue and couldn't verify the game files either. By the time I re-downloaded the game, I was banned. For someone never leaving a game this is probably one of the most ridiculous automated penalties I have ever seen in a game.
