Bad Matchmaking Thread

Now this is an absolute crapshow to put it mildly. Another stomp from the enemy team, and it's just so beyond TIRESOME to keep getting games like this. It's either stomp, or be stomped. 16 kills vs 53 kills. Enemy team being over us the ENTIRE time, even if we did all comeback urns. No amounts of slowing hex or knockdowns could stop their Infernus and our Wraith and Venator both had like 11 deaths each with 1 kill.

Like I can't stress this enough how unpleasant this game was. Draft difference? Skill difference? Either way, very poor matchmaking imo. I hate coinflips like this.

Another one of those stomps where the enemy team just had the all-around better comp to contest mid or do anything. Felt like there was nothing that could be done to win, because nobody listened or used comms.

And another.... I've had more losses than wins because of these coinflips. It's so beyond frustrating. This one was also just draft difference with enemy team getting Kelvin, Infernus, Silver... just the strongest heroes once again while our strongest hero was Vyper.

i really hope yall decide to change the matchmaking philosophy in this game. stomps are fun for 5 minutes then its boring. the close games are a lot more enjoyable for both sides. maybe instead of 10% of matches being even yall could shoot for like 50%. the matchmaking hasnt gotten better since i started playing 9 months ago. i know this whole thread is just cope but when most literally 90% matches are decided before the match starts its hard to like this game. also just add a draft if youre gonna put me in a 10 minute queue and not give me the character i want to play.
 
We’re really not asking for miracles here, just basic competence. Add a proper draft system to deal with these awful team comp differences and fix this trash matchmaking. It’s honestly embarrassing at this point. How hard is it to balance teams instead of throwing people into completely uneven matches? This isn’t fun, it’s a mess, get it together.

I played with a friend of mine trying to show the game and after trying to show him how the game was me and my friends fell from Archon III and Ritualist V to Arcanist VI.
I'm sorry but even though I like the game I will not waste my time after my 9/5 on a video game that will ask me to do the impossible to win a game. Its just sad that again, devs changed something in the matchmaking system and screwed it once again.

The game is again in a very sorry state of affairs. As I once came here to write a post like this back in the end of 2024 and come once again to post again about how I fell 12 levels, now being punished because I tried to show the game to a new friend.

If such matchmaking sorting algorithm continues, the game after the first hype wave when it gets launched (statistically speaking).

If I get game banned its party stacking doing the reporting

4 stack party toxic, defends paige griefing my lane
I asked her not to do it instead she auto attacks creeps leads to 15 denies doorman defend her typical party they get triggered when I said they are party which leads to entire argument by the so called "team" aka party

I got solo ulted by Warden, Dynamo, Drifter, Wraith enemies the other 4 stack enemy party meanwhile m team watched me die and still lose even with all ultimate down
 
79052680 Another 5 teammates that dont belong in this rank. Graves has less than 125 hours on the game. Geist and viscous did nothing most the match. Kelvin kept ulting the warden and getting himself killed. Silver might be the only mildly competent player on the team besides me. At about 23 minutes into the match we lost all 3 walkers and the urn in less than a minute with everyone else dripfeeding into the urn drop off and died to the venator, warden, mina.

0-14 Celeste put us behind significantly through the entire game, and overall it went my team 5 kills to 43 on foe team after snowballing. Thanks!

I'm here to note the illogical matchmaking choices that consistently get made during a loss streak. After a 4 loss skid (two of which were due to trolls intentionally throwing games, but that aside) I was slotted into two Ascendant games as an E5 player. There's simply no reason for me to be dropped into games 6 tiers below my rank after a small loss streak. This does not provide opportunities for players to find their footing, but actually prolongs streaks, since the game is played in a fundamentally different way between these ranks. Other matchmaking problems aside, the team seriously needs to rein in its matchmaking calibration during streaks. It creates absolute misery for everyone involved. Keep the games within a narrower ranking band in Eternus. Alternatively, you need to show the ranks of the team involved, so that players can recalibrate their play for the level of their teammates.

Agreed. We should have full transparency of the players' rank IG so we can adapt accordingly.
