Bad Matchmaking Thread

The game currently does not provide a way to be matched with players of your own approximate skill level and that is a huge problem. The rating and matchmaking systems are broken and do not function towards that regard.

If Deadlock were a fighting game with matchmaking this bad, it would be causing a lot of backlash and drive negative reviews. This would be like Street Fighter 6 matched Bronze players against Platinum or Diamond or Master players, so Bronze players get hopelessly stomped over and over again with no chance to learn the game.

Seriously, why is it impossible to be matched with players even close to my own level? Deadlock has lots of players yet the matchmaking is absolutely miserable.

Played in a game with a very obvious smurf. He went 26-1 on Drifter in a ~24 minute match. I did some digging and according to his Statlocker (https://statlocker.gg/profile/902958236/matches ; https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198863223964) he has only played 6 standard matches so far. What was even more odd was he's played on the same team as another player from that game (https://statlocker.gg/profile/844721335/matches ; https://steamcommunity.com/id/katayune/) for the past several games. It became clear to me and my friends that this person is smurfing to boost their friend up (as the two of them are friends on Steam).

After some additional research I managed to come across the smurfer's main account (https://statlocker.gg/profile/290288776/matches ; https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198250554504) after doing some searching through the friends list of the person being boosted (the smurfer's friends list, was of course, private). The smurfer's main account is currently Eternus II and ranked #469 NA. Nowhere near the skill level of an Ascendent I/II lobby. To add some additional evidence, the person being boosted is friends with both the smurfer's main account and smurf account.

It's in my opinion that all three of these accounts should be permanently suspended from the Deadlock playtest for violating the integrity of matchmaking by forcibly creating bad matches. Hopefully @Yoshi sees this post and does what needs to be done to ensure the matchmaking experience is fun for all involved.

Attached are some screenshots of the evidence:

Holy fucking hell was this game bullshit. The sinclair did fucking nothing, feel bad for them because they were on a big losing streak. The abrams and apollo were absolutely fucking busted, come to find out they were on a massive win streak. The abrams specifically won the past 10 games straight. I've been getting around maybe a bit under 50% winrate but the ONE fucking time I carry I get put into this bullshit game.

YOU NEED TO FIX YOUR FUCKING MATCHMAKING!

I AM SICK AND TIRED OF IT AND CLEARLY SO IS EVERYONE ELSE BECAUSE THEY'RE ALL LEAVING!

What's with the matchmaking giving me horrendous lane partners

Doesn't help that I'm trying to practice NEW heroes

and literally get thrown in these unwinnable games.
Rank doesn't change either so what's the point of playing these games?

2 obvious cheaters in duoQ with multiple bans already not caught by anticheat for the entire 29:37 minute game. From comments on profile they've been doing this for a while now and from their match history wraith has been playing for 4 hours now, while the pocket is 80-10 in 12 days on this fresh account while obviously aimbotting in all of them. They're ruining matchmaking in Ascendant currently.

This is how all Valve games are. They simply don't care to have proper anticheat or moderation. You either accept that cheaters get free reign for months or years between bans, or you stop playing Valve games.

Valve literally does not care. Every Valve game is like this. Even though it's obvious when people are cheating/griefing/smurfing/boosting they won't get punished because Valve does not moderate their games.

This game was particularly bad. The enemy Viscous was nearly unstoppable in every way. He would routinely solo 3 or 4 of our players. He was quite clearly a smurf from a higher rank that wanted to practice viscous against lowbies. I had two friends who haven't played in a while with me. It was my very first game on Mirage. The game felt incredibly unbalanced. While the Viscous on the enemy team did nearly 250k damage, our silver did 7.2k damage in a 52 minute game. This is obviously just completely egregious right?
