Bad Matchmaking Thread

I think the matchmaking is good honestly, obviously it could always improve just like everything else.
This might be controversial, but ever since cod 2019, SBMM/Matchmaking has been a topic of discussion for every new game.
We've all heard the arguments for and against it. But gamers and pro-gamer devs have yet to really make it their own.
It would be so cool if Deadlock/Valve were to be the first to implement a highly customizable matchmaking system. A server browser matchmaking hybrid.

I'm currently 25 and living in the US. when I sit down at my station to game, I want to enjoy it the way I want to enjoy it. So much freedom and fun has been taken from gaming. If it were up to me, I would only game with people my age who game on PC that are living around my area. I'm talking about custom matchmaking baby. something only valve can do. let us customize our experience.

Matchmaking toggle options:
*age (I would set this to people born 1997-2004)
*platform (I would only game with PC havers)
*input device (mouse and key)
*gender
*area/country (toggle on or off specific nearby states or countries)
*and more!!!

i'm sure matchmaking systems already consider peoples playing activity (when ppl play and for how long)
I've never seen anyone discuss anything like this ever. 99% of matchmaking systems suck, at least give us some options/customizability. I find the open source stuff cringe, but some transparency in this area would be fucking awesome.

Matchmaking doesn't just have to be about saving noobs from no-lifers, or about balance.
Give gamers something...

god forbid I fear an individual party then finds a way to get this information and doxxes it publically
an irrational one maybe (but data breaches are more common than you think)

but I still don't wanna.
 
hey started playing one week ago (but played other mobas and fps games before) and my teams are ALWAYS new players that don't listen to any calls and turbo feed and grief the games, is there any way to recalibrate my account? pic related is my average experience, I don't even have 50 standard matches but already thinking of giving up because of how frustranting it is for this being my average experience

if yall have no intention of fixing matchmaking please just say that and add a ff. the types of matches i get are so ridiculously onesided so often i think that yall intend the game to be like this. It hasnt gotten better since i started playing in august. please just add an ff.
*It has gotten somewhat better but its still crazy how many stomps there are that go beyond someone having a bad game. And I know an FF wouldnt solve the problem and in all likelihood would make match quality worse but it sucks getting crushed for 30 minutes without a REAL chance of coming back.

I don't think the enemy team average rank is eternus 6 at all.

This might be the worse suggestion ive ever seen... matchmaking should be based on skill level and nothing else

seven and vindicta had literally 5 hours on the game. vs everyone else that had way more.
 
I think the biggest problem with matchmaking right now is people playing off heroes in lower skill lobbies. If someone makes it to archon playing seven, but then switches it up and plays viscous, they're going to get destroyed in their archon lobbies, likely feed, and ruin the game for everyone else. Right now the game has way too much rubberbanding between hero mmr, and global mmr. Players in lower skill brackets (archon and lower) should have to prove themselves on a hero before getting to play in those brackets.

You can probably increase the tethering as you get higher in skill. A player who has reached phantom or higher might be expected to be at least competent even on a hero he never plays, because he knows generally good skills such as map awareness, macro, movement, etc. But this isn't the case in lower skill lobbies.
 
Match ID 68455672 i dare anyone who reads this to spectate Mina and tell me this is ok. this is hands down the worst performance i've come across in 300 hours. 2.4k player damage in 28 minutes.

i was Ritualist IV and this person doesn't even know there's a melee key. i checked. i spectated them and they didn't use it once. they shot their own troopers and even their own teammate at some points.

i've never agotten mad at this game before but this was so atrociously bad i'm baffled. i'm not mad at the player for being bad i'm just shocked that someone THIS bad ended up anywhere near this lobby.

(apologies for the cringe formatting i just thought this was really fucking funny all things considered and hoped this would catch more people's attention. praying this'll make your day cause it really sucked for me)

I had 170k damage and the second one that has damage in my team was 61k.

The matchmaking is clearly broken. I don't know why my elo got reset

The Toxicity from one guy was hell high guy insulted everyone in team that we play poorly etc
