Bad Matchmaking Thread

Understand that people will on purpose fail to gain easy matches vs competetive. some people like an easy win, and some like to work for it. Easy wins are nice but the matches you need to work for it is where you learn. while you might have lost today, maybe tomorrow you wont because you'll learn something from the losses. again someone like a fed vindicta, you should probably stack spirit resist as much as possible. her sniper is just too strong and it can 1 or 2 shot you. Venator is another one. the first 2 shots dont matter. the last one is the one that counts. You guys need to learn to play comps. Vindicta is easy to beat if you dont feed her every kill. or your gunna end up with a 60k vindicta and your entire squad is comparable. its not hard to stop feeding. just quit pushing so much. a tower loss isnt alot vs death loss overtime.

In my experience devs should set the stage CLEARLY regarding what this game is going to be.

E.g. Tarkov became famous to be super hard, grind, difficult game, I think Six siege was there about.
On the other hand Overwatch was kinda always mostly about kids playing run and gun.
CS forced people to become mechanical robots otherwise insta dead.
Quake used to be super fast phase + mix of different guns from tracking to 1 shot 1 death.

What I hope Valve will not do is what Respawn did with Apex:
1. promote game like a fast phase really competitive BR but then probably because of financial side of things make it sooooo casual that even Hal now says that Respawn can't make Apex more competitive, hard as majority of community would instantly quit if they don't get Masters for free.
2. implement SBMM instead of EBMM aka game experience over metrics

Current posts just highlight that quite a big part of community unfortunately are "Apex like" aka brainlessly run and gun, flex when it works out, cries when it does not. Valve can't change people, all they can is keep ranked competitive enough so those weak spirits leave after being broken or switch on competitive mode and give an effort.
What Valve imo MUST do is to make sure that cases like new players getting into super high ELO games does not happen! Respawn did exactly that to tailor streamers and top 1% of players by adjusting queue times via feeding much lower ranked players into those lobbies, making sure top 1% does not fill in server entirely = make the game tournament difficulty / LAN like. Where that lead to? Mid/high skill players getting rolled over and eventually quitting the game as it makes no sense for soloq Diamond to get into games vs 3stack top 1% and hackers.

Match says eternus 4 average, yet a random (non partied) ascendant 2 rated player (https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198104333370/) got thrown into the game and got absolutely bent over, completely ruining the game for everyone else.

Can't even blame the poor guy because he never had a chance to begin with, getting accidentally placed in a game averaged to a division and a half above his rank.

Looking at the guy's match history, he has done excessively poorly in an overwhelming amount of his recent games now, yet is somehow still being placed in matches way above his actual skill level. Even in his wins he's doing the worst on his team and just getting carried (with a sub 50 winrate, losing games in ascendant-averaged lobbies).
 
i cant take this with the teammates, here are 2 examples.. but all my matches go exactly like this 2

That's not how this works.
If he doesn't perform he shouldn't be stuck in Ritualist, he should go lower into a rank where he is with players of EQUAL skill.

This is the problem the game has. If you don't perform you're stuck in the new inflated ranks and it refuses to demote you, so NO-ONE gets a fair lobby.
What's with the random bold and italics, you need to get back to reddit little bro.
 
This is for Street Brawl so it's not as high priority, but two games me and my friend, both over 200 hours played, got matched twice in a row with people who admitted they were brand new to the characters they were playing, leading to stomps both times. Admittedly I was playing Apollo, but I already had over ten games on him. Me and my friend definitely aren't pros or anything like that, but I'd like to think we shouldn't end up in lobbies with players this fresh, nor should they be dragged to our level.

I am not one to complain about matchmaking given the early state of the game, but my last 5 matches in a row have all featured someone on the enemy team with ~15 kills and ~0 deaths, which is definitely not my usual experience - it's incredibly demoralizing lol

Valve: Lets put all the seeker players with 50 hours and 15 matches played against a full team of people with 500+ matches.

Fucking idiots.
They dont even try to balance the teams out. They literally stack all the fucking noobs on one side and put them against people with experience. Its fucking ridiculous.

btw i regulary check account that cheat on the game and dont hide and they still dont ban
you let people cheat on EU server ? why dont put all russian in dedicated server ?
 
57956773 - the skill difference between losing team and winning team was very apparent, I led my team with 2 kills, 95k soul differential in 25ish minutes of pain
58932705 - 41-0-7 bebop player wiped our whole team repeatedly, 61k soul differential
 
Blatant smurfing Sinclair hard carried his entire team, then when called out multiple times, especially near the end, goes "who??????????". When called out before, he said nothing, but the fact he pulls out the "WHO" shtick is so blatant it hurts. He counter-spelled so many of our teams abilities non-stop and when looking at his page, he has a level 0 profile and it shows that he can't bother playing in his own rank. Valve literally does not care. They don't moderate any game they have ever made, and Deadlock is the same. Most matches will have cheaters/smurfs/bots/bought accounts, etc. They can afford to moderate their games but they don't because they simply do not care.

another day, another ruined matchmaking: 56391675

one player, wiianda (silver) can't even move because he is on a different server (high ping or delay or packet loss) causing him to leave the game 5 minutes into the game. i can only suggest:

1. fix matchmaking (skill level distribution, dedicated servers,etc.)
2. add a report button for people who are leaving the game or going afk (griefing may not count as a violation for these two actions).

Vindicta leaving the game, paige not in this skill level. bunch of new players always in emmissary. then all will leave the game even when the game is still winnable like i can still kill at their end game. please, fix matchmaking and rank distribution.
