Bad Matchmaking Thread

ArchMother - 5 players have kill streaks at the same time. All the while HiddenKing team all has 1-2 kills, except for ONE player. That player had 6 kills. Their best had 22. 2 second best had 13 kills each. After that 11 kills each for another two.

The match was over in 26 minutes. It ended with 198 k souls for the blue team, and 134 k for the orange one.

It was abysmal. Never had it THIS bad.

Been saying this for two years. Everyone in discord and the Fanboys all scream that you're dumb to think Deadlock would fail because of MM. And it will if they do not do anything to fix it and deal with smurfs and cheaters.

They could at the very least explain how MM works, ranks work, team comp works, and the rest of the stuff involved. Maybe, the burning question and most important - why haven't they done anything to try to fix it. Is the goal to still collect data to build a better MM for launch? They can fix nothing, but just actually explain it to the players and save a bunch of grief.
It's 110% guaranteed success already. People are playing 10-15 even 20 year old games for a reason. Absolutely nothing new is good these days except Deadlock. Matchmaking in Deadlock however... but like I've said in posts before people that actually care about good games will go through external sites like FaceIt instead.

I'll also say this again. The one and only thing they need to do to "fix" matchmaking is add back ranked and unranked. That's it. New people play unranked and learn the game and when they are comfortable they go into ranked. At least a big portion. I know there are dumdums that just go into ranked anyway. And all vets will play ranked. If they made ranked forced solo again too that would be the dream for me. Best games I ever had on Deadlock.

Is it not clear they don't care about this problem? I mean they launched a big content/art update with zero gameplay changes, no fixes to matchmaking and so on. They're losing thousands of potential players every single day due to never working on essential, fundamental, features like matchmaking.

As a support main this game is unplayable anymore. I do not know what else i could have changed other than more OBJ dmg but as a support main that is difficult. MM needs fixed so desperately. I'd rather have waited on the new heroes if they just fixed matchmaking instead.

It's painful seeing how little they care about matchmaking. surely they cant be getting good data on a game where the matchmaking is this bad.

Hello, just played in an oracle-level lobby and had two teammates who had a collective total of 30 hours in the game. It was the Sinclair and Grey Talon. The talon said that the last time he played was last year and most of his hours are from having the game open :/ no idea how they got put in that level of rank
 
i double prio vyper and i get put in a match where shes banned. why can this even happen. why would i be queued into this game instead of the matchmaker trying to find something else. also fix your shit matchmaking by putting new players in initiate

How can this sort of MM be allowed? The player population is not low enough to create a match this bad.
 
Same problem that a lot of people here expressed. I've played for maybe 50 hours a year ago, a lot of that with bots; started the game again now. The game decided that I'm Emissary. I went 1/7, but my team won the game, so I was bumped up to Archon. What followed was a loss streak of maybe 12-15 miserable, unwinnable games where I couldn't do anything whatsoever until I finally got put into Seeker lobbies where the enemies are around my skill level.

I've got a friend who is in the same situation and basically doesn't want to play deadlock, because he knows he needs to lose 10 games in a row before he can play for real.
