Apparent performance degradation over time (Linux mint)

I've seen a few posts about this recently, but just to add:

I have been experiencing fps getting worse over time until the game is nearly unplayable. The issue is resolved when I restart the game. Something weird I've noticed is that sometimes the FPS counter stays high (133~) but the game feels to be around 25. Again, this is fixed by restarting the game. I switched from windows to mint recently so I don't know if this is caused by the update or not.

I'm running linux mint using 4060ti and i5-14600KF with 32gb memory.

I am experiencing similar issues on Bazzite. I have a 4060 and a 5600x. After 30 minutes or so in a match, my frames drop from around a 120 average FPS to like 12 average FPS. This doesn't occur in the lobby, or even in Street Brawl because the matches don't last long enough.

After some quick investigations in the Deadlock Discord, the LD_PRELOAD="" launch option seems to fix this "memory leak"-type issue. I have yet to confirm, but I figured you'd like to know as well.

experiencing the same issues. the "LD_PRELOAD" setting didn't seem to help at all. if i ever alt-tab out of the game, the FPS becomes a stuttery mess, and if i never switch windows it continuously degrades like you've described. i've tried lowering graphics settings, resolution, FPS, etc., many different things but the only thing that helps is restarting the game. my computer is on the older side but i've never had this problem in any other game on Linux so far.

Framerate and audio stuttering issues continuously degrading over time during a match
Linux Mint 22.2
Proton 10.0-4 (it's the only one that worked for me)
Intel i7-4790K
NVIDIA GTX 1070

okay, switching to vulkan renderer AND using LD_PRELOAD seems to have fixed it for me. the game runs smoothly now and i haven't had any issues for several matches. hope this helps, and thank you

Similar issues.

OS: Mint 22.3 (On Cinnamon. Tried KDE Plasma just in case and problems are still there)
CPU: R5 2700x
GPU: RTX 2070 Super
RAM: 32GB DDR4 at 3200 mhz
running off sata SSD

These performance issues started with the the recent major update where before game was comparable to Windows, it just ran slower. Now FPS tanks to slideshow levels and seems to either happen when something visually busy comes on screen like me turning the corner onto a team fight, entering base, opening shop menu, or just happening without a clear reason even when walking in empty alleys.

+Switching to Vulkan and putting the resolution as low as it can go with DLSS x2 at 1080p, and all other settings turned off, stops most instances but it still occurs sometimes.
-Switching proton layers did not help
-Switching drivers did not help
-LD_PRELOAD and Vulkan does not fix the issue, possibly delays it when at full resolution.

* LD_PRELOAD, on Direct3D11, with all settings turned to the lowest, might be working while letting me keep full resolution. No major stutters or framedrops after about three games but might come back later or if I turn anything back on.

Edit: I also use Proton Experimental but changing which one Deadlock uses was not doing anything on its own.
