Another citadel/pak01.vpk corrupt crash

I would very much like to play this game without it crashing everyday and getting banned. Please advise.

Same happened to me today. Game crashed, couldn't launch without it saying "downloading content 0%". Tried verifying game files, stuck at 0%. Had to reinstall.
Now I'm banned for 6 hours.
PC less than a year old.

I was able to finally find a solution that doesn't involve reinstalling. Go to Steam Settings > Downloads > Clear Download Cache. This causes you to have to restart Steam. Steam didn't restart for me, so I restarted my computer. Steam started up and I was able to rejoin the match.

Nevermind, I apparently got lucky. This didn't work today.
