Most of the newer cast has melee hybrid abilities that proc melee items, Abrams being a really old character his charge only does spirit, i think making the charge do spirit while having melee damage proc on wall collision. This way he would be more aligned with the newer melee centric cast and would actually scale decently with gun right now. To be honest this for me is a constancy thing. Billy, Silver, Viscous, Drifter all have abilities that proc melee conditionally why cant a literal angry blue brick also do the same.
