Ability points are accidentally spent when dead

If you are spamming an ability when you die it can spend your ability points. Should probably just make it so that when you are dead you have to manually select instead of the press to skill.

In that note can i bind my level up keys? i would like to unlock the use of left alt as well as having instant effect of pressing lets say f2 to unlock the 2nd skill instead the hold function. if there's a time where clutch events like this can matter is in the early game. and i could jsut keep f1-f4 to upgrade them ( yes smite style, it is what i am used to but just give me the option to map them really not telling to make it for everyone)

same thing happened to me, I am not sure that is the bug, but yes, I agree with you and I made that thing to UI suggestion.
