Her sword is simply gone whenever you load into the game, and appears to be in the sheath. While it's funny to see basically play pretend and kill enemies with literally nothing, this certainly isn't intended. It does come back occasionally, but after using Power Slash, she decides that she no longer needs a weapon to kill enemies again. I've only encountered this in Sandbox Mode and single player bot play, but this might extend to other parts of the game.
