The same happened to me. I asked the Haze who killed me what it looked like on her end. Haze stated that Yamato had teleported to the other side with Haze instantly, and that Yamato was simply standing still and doing nothing.
I was playing Yamato here and Haze was the enemy. You'll find in the video, that my camera shows me clipping through the scenery, and all the while I am pressing various movement buttons. Alas, my character appeared frozen on the other side with Haze.
