Workaround suggestion for the time being:
Although this does not necessarily restore the description boxes during the shopping-session, I for one highly recommend queuing the purchases with the (default) right-mouse-click. And then optionally activating the "auto-buy" option at the bottom of the "Quick Buy"-box.
Mainly mentioning this here since not too many players are actually utilizing feature when more importantly accessing the jungle / hidden or the lane-shops especially in the middle of hectic firefights.
