Weird Matchmaking abandon encounter

Buddy was streaming his game in discord. A player took ages to join at the pre-start lobby. He finally joined but as the game starts the Red abandom message is displayed at the top (The one where it still counts as a loss. Dunno why it wasnt a green), but all 12 players were in the game. The guy that joined lated ends up leaving after 20 seconds, they queue again and 2 minutes later are in a game with the exact same guy. (That joined super late, and was the first player to leave) So they clearly didn't get a timeout
