Upon breaking a mystical orb he was cursed by Arachne (Spider greek mythology deity) and eventually turned into a sub-human sub-spider species. He eventually worked for various mob crime syndicates. When he heard about what was happening in New York, he knew he had to go there to seek a favour with the patrons. |
(Long version) In the dark alleys of the city, a thug named Webb once roamed, raised among the shadows of a crime-ridden metropolis. Survival was a daily challenge, and theft became his second nature. Life in the underbelly taught Webb to trust only his instincts and the swift dexterity of his fingers. But one fateful night, his luck turned disastrously. While looting a dimly lit mystic shop, Webb shattered a mystical orb, inadvertently invoking the ancient curse of Arachne, the spider deity whom was banished and trapped within the orb. The curse transformed him, grafting onto him the aspects of a spider—eight eyes to see in the darkest corners and limbs that could scale any surface. However, this gift came with a grave cost: Webb became an outcast, part-human, part-arachnid, belonging fully to neither realm. As the years wore on, Webb's unique abilities caught the attention of a mob crime syndicate, desperate for an edge in a world where the occult was not just real but rampant. They offered him a place among their ranks, using his skills for intricate heists and silent assassinations. Webb, embracing his new identity, became their most elusive enforcer donning the name "Weaver". The year is now 1949, and whispers of a second Maelstrom stir the air—a celestial event that promises to redraw the lines of power and reality. With New York City, the Cursed Apple, at the heart of this supernatural storm, Webb hears the call of destiny. He knows that within the chaos lies a chance to gain the favor of the patrons, beings of immense power capable of altering fates. As Webb ventures into the bustling metropolis, he navigates through the labyrinth of loyalties and rivalries that paint the city's occult underworld. Each step brings him closer to the ritual that might not only free him from his curse but also grant him the acceptance he has long craved. Caught between the worlds, Webb now fights not just for survival but for a chance to redefine his cursed existence, hoping to forge a new future from the shadows of his past. |
Skillset
Archetype should be similar to Haze, since deadlock allows only picking one type of hero at a time, this would be a neat alternative to players who want to play haze but couldn't. His kit is similar to Haze in that regard in which it has an invisibility skill as an ultimate, mobility skill and a passive inflicts a single target. This hero is also a homage to broodmother in dota 2.Concept art for Web Weaver's Cobweb
The cobweb or cocoon should not be visually disruptive in doorways or such. It should be transparent and be visually noticeable enough for enemies to notice them.Credits to chatgpt
