It seems that using Vampiric Burst "updates" the bonus ammo it gives to a value based on your current max ammo. However, this value will not go down if you sell the item giving you extra max ammo, even after using Vampiric Burst again.
In video below, as Paige (14 max ammo):
1. Vampiric Burst gives 11 ammo (36->47)
2. Titanic Magazine is bought and immediately resold
3. Vampiric Burst still gives 11 ammo (47->58), so no issue with this here
4. Titanic Magazine is bought (28 max ammo)
5. Vampiric Burst gives 21 ammo (58->79)
6. Titanic Magazine is sold (at half refund).
7. Vampiric Burst gives 25 ammo(????) (79->104)
Unsure what's causing 7 to give more ammo than it should. Repeating steps 4 through 7 causes the ammo given to flip back to 21 and then back to 25 again.
