Back again with another character concept, like before it's not entirely fleshed out I just want to explore the juke closets and shadow people of the deadlock universe. Valerie is my take on a Paparazzi character, eager to document the ritual and the famous or infamous names that are known around the Cursed Apple. Naturally she would be a somewhat irritating presence for many of the characters, but have an infectious energetic attitude.

I have already posted this the subreddit just to gauge initial feelings, so far people seems to take issue with the ULT, some people feel its similar to Mirage's ult or Doorman's doors and others feel it's not quite epic enough to warrant being an ultimate. Both totally valid points.
I would just like to clarify the ULT is designed to be more the backbone of Valerie's playstyle rather than a team fighting ability, also the Void would be available at all times as long as its off cooldown, no interrupts or in combat restrictions, I saw it more as a place to escape or travel through. Later in the game you can use juke closets behind enemy lines to become a jungle/assassin type, that's how she gets all the juicy scoops. Just my two cents. As I said I appreciate and understand the feedback so far and I will post changes to the ult in the future once I have given it some thought.

Ultimately maybe the ideas here are possibly OP, underpowered or have incorrect numbers please let me know what your take would be for this character in the nicest way possible. Cheers all.

That's very kind. I'm sure you can! I have been doing art and art education from first school all the way through uni. Finding good reference is key. Practice, iteration and time that's all an idea needs to shine.

Easier said than done of course, not everyone has the time.
 
I really like the idea behind the ULT using vail closets being able to travel all around the map
Mirage can already do this to an extent but this would be full scooby doo, and I would love to someone get chased and just disappear

Exactly how I imagined it, a sort of scooby doo chase scenario. Perhaps if enemies enter the veil realm to chase you they take damage over time. Mirage is sort of a one off ability, I'm considering if this should be up almost always but the trade off being you have knowledge of every juke closet and have to plan your route accordingly.
 
I am worried from a players perspective that a big black shadow-y character would be hard to see on the map but nonetheless this is a fantastic concept

Yeah the constant noir rim light on the character model would do most of the heavy lifting in terms of in readability.
 
This is a brilliant concept in keeping with the Neo-noir theme - good work! My only critique is that his ultimate, whilst thematically on point, feels like a limited version of Mirage's Traveler ultimate ability. A suggestion may be that there would be a mechanism by which to select 1 juke closet that you can enter into alongside your allies, not dissimilar to Underlord's ultimate ability Fiend's Gate in Dota 2.

So maybe the veil zone could allow allies through it as well and they gain regen, perhaps as a 5AP upgrade. Enemies could also enter but they would take a small amount of sustained damage while in the zone. I might make a new ability page illustrating this or do a splash art, I just want an excuse to post more of my deadlock character stuff really 😅
