Unfair ban due to pak error bug

Repeatedly I keep getting banned because of the pak.01 corruption error, like how is it fair getting a 6-hour ban because of an error with game engine. Even when I try to validate files it refuses to work unless 3-4 minutes have gone by and by then the 'safe to abadon' message has come up and i am banned if i try to go into another match. Like how is this fair? I have this problem every few weeks but the bans just keep building up and valve cannot come up with any bloody solution for this persistent bug. I appreciate the work they put into this fantastic game but this really making me put off playing. Does anyone have any solution?

No solution, only that the same happened to me too. Really put me off the game as a whole getting this kind of punishment for something completely out of our control. At the very least they should reset the ban length when stuff like this happens.

The only conclusive solution I have ever found on this issue in my research is to reduce the speed your system's RAM is running at (do you overclock? Is your system factory overclocked? Do you have an active XMP/EXPO profile in use in the BIOS/UEFI?), or replacing RAM modules that turned out to be faulty despite stability testing. It is not exclusive to Deadlock.

I thought about that too. I've got 200+ hours in the game, and hadn't had a crash until yesterday. Luckily I made it back from that crash pretty quickly with no problems. The only thing that had changed is that I had enabled XMP, when I realized this I went and disabled XMP. Played a game and had no crash.

I'm hoping that solves the issue going forward.
