I and many others in my friend group have tried to invite one of my friends to the playtest but they are unable to join. Way back when Deadlock first became playable, someone sent them an invite and they declined it. Now they are unable to join despite wanting to with the current state of the game and being sent new invites. We have separately messaged Steam Support to try and resolve the issue to no avail.
