currently, changing your settings before the match to turn off voice and text chat once you're in a game does absolutely nothing. trying to change the setting while you're in the match also does absolutely nothing. turning off chat entirely in the settings only disables chat for yourself, you can still see/hear others just fine. currently the only way to turn off chat with others is to mute each player individually, but this also stops you from being able to see their pings, as opposed to just muting people's typing and voice chat but keeping pings
