Truant (and the Terrible Trio)

A young girl led astray by a trio of wily spirits/homonculi? Or a young woman plotting her own desires, and with a pack of idiotic spirits/homonculi at her bidding? The answer is probably yes to both, depending on whether you asked the girl, or the creatures.

Thematically and aesthetically, this character would be equal parts Oliver Twist, Drifter from Risk of Rain, and Marci from Dota. Looks a lot like a scrounger/vagabond, large cloak and backpack, hiding all manner of surprisingly magical trinkets and weapons within. She would be young, age hard to identify due to the baggy clothes, but maybe late teens. The three creatures would be creatures if you catch by drift, squirrely, weird things that are hard to classify. Characterization wise, the girl herself would not talk much, if any. Instead, the 3 creatures aiding her would bicker and plot and generally act both malevolent and stupid. They aid her in her abilities, grabbing items or weapons from her coat and bag, or building her ultimate. Think slightly evil Mo, Larry and Curly (or the little demons Pain and Panic from Disney's Hercules). It would be so incredibly important that at least one of them sounded like Meepo, and preferably all 3 are voiced by Nolan North, with different voices for each, especially if said voices totally conflict with how said creature actually looks (like the scrawniest one sounding like Lycan) Note: Please please please please please.

First ability: Trinket

An initial channel, followed by a duration to cast (think Paradox 2). Upon initial cast, she pulls a random magical trinket from her coat. She has until the end of the duration to throw it, or it goes on cooldown, just as Paradox's 2 does as well. The list of possible trinkets (in very abstracted form)
- Red: Area of Effect Spirit Damage.
- Yellow: Area of Effect Disarm and Slow
- Teal: Area of Effect Heal

I could not hazard upgrades to this beyond at T3, the Ability icon would change to reflect what the next use of the ability would produce (ie it would show teal to show that the next use would pull a teal. This could be done with each trinket get a symbol, or changing color, etc).

Second Ability: Impulse Charge

One of the creatures grabs a magically unstable item, and throws it where aimed. It sticks to whatever surface it hits, and remains until recast or its duration expires. After an initial arming time, the ability can be re-cast to detonate the item, dealing spirit damage to enemies and knocking all enemies and allies away from the rune. Think like demo stickies, but only damaging enemies, and using this to chain off bounce pads or knock enemies into your tower can be cool. This one I am the least sure of thematically, but I like mechanically.

Third Ability: Makeshift Arsenal

Passively, this would prevent Truant from manually reloading. Instead, her weapon becomes "discarded" when out of ammo, and she becomes permanently Disarmed until she casts this ability, at which point one of the creatures would reach into the bag, pulls out, and gives her another weapon. Pressing the normal reload key would instead throw whatever weapon you had, and leave her Disarmed as usual. This throw is an attack, and does light melee damage. This skill would be automatically skilled at level 1 by default (just as Vyper is forced to have Slither), and she can press the ability to swap weapons without using all the ammo. The weapons she gets would be:
- Broomhandle: A magically charged pistol that does a bit less damage, but applies a minor slow on hit.
- Boomstick: A scrappy shotgun, slow fire rate and terrible accuracy, but high damage per shot.
- Bazooka: Slow firing, AoE shooter, as in Yamato or Viscous right clicks. Slightly larger AoE than those though, and no max range or projectile drop., as its some sort of magical projectile.

Upgrades would include a movement speed boost when she is disarmed and has no weapon, adding spirit scaling to her shots (like grey talon, as in her shots gain gun damage based on spirit), and T3 just as in Trinket would change the icon to match what the next weapon would be on cast.

Fourth Ability: Decommissioned Teleporter

Upon cast, the minimap is enlarged and a location can be selected (like Mirage, but anywhere can be chosen). After choosing, one of the creatures grabs a bundle out of the backpack, and begins building a ramshackle approximation of the teleporters in front of Truant. A similar item is built at the location selected on the map. Once its fully built, it functions as a usable teleporter between both locations by both teams, for it's duration. (It's Pit Lord/Underlord's Ult in Dota). The cooldown would be incredibly long, close if not more than Dynamo, as team wide rotation power of that scale to anywhere is very strong.

Upgrades wise, idk, cooldown probably. Maybe duration.

Kit wise, character is intended to be a flexible rotational support, very similar to say Ivy or Kelvin, being able to do decent gun builds with building gun, support with Trinket and ult, etc, though the game is so variable and open, who knows how things can turn out.

so basically:

1) ability you can cast and tap to toggle between three forms before full press and release to use the chosen form
2) trap making ability for aoe damage
3) weapon swap instead of reloading
4) create a fake teleporter that leads to the closest other one

Not really.
The 1. Is random, and you’d get a random effect each cast. Could be damage 3 times in a row, could be nothing but healing and disarm, etc.
2. Wouldn’t have nearly a long enough duration to work as a true trap, it’s more and AoE damage and disruption ability thats a bit easier to time.
3. Is also random, but sure, that’s a basic way of thinking about it.
4. Doesn’t go to the nearest one, it goes to wherever you selected on the map. It creates a fake teleporter at that location as well.
