If I remember correctly, the skulls are immune to spirit damage. Torment pulse is dealing spirit damage

Seems to be true. But there is no any reason why they are should be immune to spirit dmg.
i checked all updates information and there is no any information about this. And no Information in discription of this ability

Jar of Dead can't be dealt damage by any ability or item, probably to not make them completely useless vs a lot of the cast that could just easily blow them all up with 1 ability.
