well in general a gpu running at max usage is not that unusual honestly. in most of the times you will run into a gpu limit when playing a game, mine also runs at 100% the whole time when playing sth like hogwarts legacy or even minecraft with shaders. ofc on the long run 100% usage drains more lifetime but thats nothing deadlock in particular can be blamed for. i mean surely it shouldn't have went up in flames though and it might be that the game had more impact than other fully polished games (as you said you seem not to be the only one with issues) but you can't throw modern software at pretty old hardware and expect it to work just fine. also your gpu has thermal paste in it which you probably never replaced within 8 years etc. so probably the wear on it just showed itself finally.I got mine 2016 and i never maxed it out. But its true its old as fuck.
But still, never problem with any other games and i have been playing Deadlock for 200h.
There is a lot of threads of gpu crashes and spiking to 100%. Imagine my shity old gpu and the game thinks i have 3000 series. Ofc the GPU will be killed.
This game isn't 100% to be blamed but it is the most reason to be blamed.
