Wanted to draw a conceptual design for Fathom/Slork based off Iracat’s older goblin shark concept.
I also wanted to re draw his abilities, not much changed since I though his kit was already cool.
I mainly made this because of the new Fathom voiceline by Rem saying "Slork, as long as people remember you, you aren't truly dead". It might be a stretch, but the fact that doorman teased fathom by calling him a forgotten god (in a past line) makes me believe if they are bringing back fathom/slork they might be going for a neglected sea god approach. Hence fathoms lore on him wanting to be the real killer of the seas again.
I know it might be a joke since they say Slork, but it can’t be a coincidence that doorman’s line and fathoms own lore relates to that rem line about fathom being forgotten.
Also to back up that Fathom/Slork might not be entirely dead is that in the past character batch a character that has specific lines when interacting with every character with an ability (Doorman) mentions him, just like how this recent batch also has a character that has specific lines when interacting with every character with an ability (Rem) mentions him as well.
And I think it’s fun that fathom and viscous have similar wishes for different reasons. I mean theoretically in a room of 48 people getting a wish, two people in there are bound to want the same thing for different reasons.
So that's why I wanted to conceptualize what he could be when he comes back since at this point, he has still been mentioned pretty consistently in two major patches from new characters and might just be being held off for later, not being seen as a priority.
