Temporary ban after queuing and spectating a friend

Was given a ban after following these steps:
1. Enter a queue
2. Spectate an in-game friend
3. Game is found, loaded into lobby
4. Spectate friend begins
5. Can press Esc to Leave Spectating
6. Return to menu screen, no option to rejoin the game lobby, and immediately given a temporary ban

I believe this to be a bug.

Just happened to me as well. Unavoidable abandons.

I just had this, except I clicked spectate and cancelled before entering the queue.

Found out this was a thing today, got a 30 minute temp ban because of it
