Targeting / Lock on reticle for 1 isn't working for Sinclair (After recent Patch) (NON MODDED)

Just noticed this today as I got qued with Sinclair - the reticle for locking on isn't showing or working and it was working fine last week!

Feels like the old sinclair now - was this intentional?

Also - I will add, I recently started using the new HP bars as per the console command "+citadel_unit_status_use_new true"
Could this be effecting it?

I'm having issues too! I don't see the "lock-on" icon when my crosshair is over an enemy player. I've been missing my bolts so much more now aha.. I did not use any console commands while playing, either.

EDIT: It's not consistent. It takes like a second or two to show up in the training room, but in my Street Brawl matches, it would not show up at all..

Mine doesn't even show up in the training room and in game - I can't get it to appear at all!

This was 100% NOT the case last week - for example,

Lash would ULT - In that 1-2 second moment where he's hovering - I was able to re-direct 2 sometimes even 4 bolts into his body while he hovered there - now, I couldn't even get a SINGLE set of bolts to lock onto him - not once.

Something has changed here, for sure.

Yeah I'm not sure if it's a purposeful change or an accident. I was playing Sinclair just a second ago, and it does appear after 1-2s delay in Street Brawl, but I have to leave my crosshair on an enemy which is awful since I need to aim at other people after redirect my bolts. It's really inconvenient given how fast-paced matches are. Hopefully they will revert it. Sinclair doesn't feel nearly as good to play at the moment since that's their main damaging ability, too :(

I hope so too - I just played another game and it feels like the original sinclair at this point.

I wonder if they added something into the patch notes that I missed?

The indicator does not affect the actual bolt redirection mechanics.

While it is currently bugged, it is purely a visual issue and shouldn't affect your gameplay.

If you aim at an enemy hero and redirect onto them, it will redirect whether the indicator is there or not.

Fair and sorry for my poor phrasing there. I know it's purely visual and not a real lock on.

It isn't purely visual though, I'm confused by this statement.

Let's take a floating Gray Talon as an example target - in the past, if you re-directed your bolts directly at him - floating - they would go to the furthest point past him - this was most recently fixed with the patch -

"- Sinclair: Vexing Bolt now shows the target to redirect to (similar to Wraith's Cards)"

"- Sinclair: Vexing Bolt now only snaps to heroes"

"Snaps To"

This was a very big impact to my Sinclair gameplay and most definitely not something "Purely visual" in my experience playing him.

It was like night and day difference in targeting air-targets - otherwise my bolts would ALWAYS go to where my reticle was pointing, like the back wall - behind them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but where in the patch notes does it say that this is purely visual?

The change from the patch notes that you are referencing (the snaps to heroes one) was to make it so that Vexing Bolt does not redirect to objectives/neutral camps unintentionally. It took them a few smaller patches across a few days, but they were finally able to fix it.

The visual indicator, on the other hand, was broken straight from the get-go (it was giving people wallhacks) and they removed it shortly after adding it. They re-added it after fixing it and it was fine for a while, but in a patch from a few days ago they broke it.

It now either does not appear at all or appears exactly 1 second after sending out a bolt. It does not affect your actual bolt redirection in any way as that has been fixed for a while now. That's what I meant by "it's purely visual." Bolt redirection works almost perfectly on the current patch and it's only the visual indicator that is bugged.

If you just aim onto a hero when you redirect your bolts, you shouldn't have any issues with the redirection mechanics, since it isn't affected by the visual indicator. They still need to fix the indicator regardless though.
