With the most recent balance change (1/30/26) that reduce the effectiveness of both Viscous gun and utility in cube, changes to spirit need to be made to make the playstyle more effective to play. I have roughly 900 games played specifically building Goo Ball spirit Viscous, and I can say without a doubt that currently this is the weakest the playstyle has ever felt. The issue with spirit Viscous isn't the lack of damage the abilities (Splatter and Goo Ball) can put out, but rather how often they can be used. Here are some suggestions to improve that.
(These are all individual, not meant to all be implemented at the same time)
Splatter:
-T3 Splatter reduces CD by 2-3s for every unique hero hit
-T3 Splatter enables charges
Goo Ball
-T3 Goo Ball reduces CD of all abilities by 2-3s every time a hero is hit (can be hero unique or non-unique, to include Goo Ball itself or not)
-T3 Goo Ball applies a stacking %total (or spirit exclusively) damage amp on hit heroes, similar to Pocket's Barrage ability
-T3 Goo Ball -30s CD
Goo Ball is one of, if not the singular hardest ability in the game to pilot offensively, and because it is so ineffective in an offensive role currently, it is resigned to a "run away" tool. With how unique Viscous' kit is with environment geometry interaction, these changes can reward skill expression while not making the character overpowered.
