Stuttering and unplayable on RTX 4060 with v572.16 Nvidia driver

Updated to the latest drivers from Nvidia and the game became suttery and unplayable. Reverting to the previous version resolved the issue.

this is a problem with nvidia drivers, everything that came out after december for drivers is completely broken for everything but the 50 series

3080 here, same problem, reinstalled driver with DDU, my clock speed isn't being utilized unless I max out the games graphics. Reinstalled 566.36 driver and still same issue. Something in the recent update broke the optimization I guess.

The game is freezing and lagging on good computers after the update.
@Yoshi fix it.

I might have found the problem, try playing the game with project8.exe instead of deadlock.exe . I noticed the difference today. Will report back if this is the fix.
edit: nope that wasn't it though it gave me more FPS. will write my own thread about this.

I've done a few testing. The game does seem to run better on project8.exe than deadlock.exe . Y'all try and report back.
In practice range, I get about 270+ fps with project8.exe, when shooting it dips to 150-ish (expected behavior), with deadlock.exe I only get about 190fps and shooting causing it to drop way below 120fps.

I installed the December driver just to test it (but it doesn’t really help). I doubt Project8.exe changes anything—it’s just a shortcut with a different name, lol. It’s just that in some games the stutters or screen‑tearing are very noticeable, while others run more or less fine.

Unfortunately, it looks like @Yoshi broke the optimization in the latest update, and now people can’t play properly. We just have to wait and hope they fix it.

I have reverted to 566.36 which is December 2024's driver. Didn't fix it. Updated to latest now. Didn't fix it.
Hopefully its not Windows.

The only behavior im getting in game is that my clock speed is stuck at 1755 while in the range and bot game it usually boosts up to 1920mhz.
Another interesting thing is when I try the Explore Map option, everything loads just fine boosting to 1930mhz and very high fps. but if I increase host speed to 2.0, it starts locking up to 1755mhz again.

Try downloading the latest driver version and optimizing the game (it will improve performance), and also launch the game using project8.exe.

That's strange, otherwise all your games would be lagging.
They just improved optimization in the new patch, and now you get more FPS, haha.

Changing my upscaling to FSR seems to have helped stuttering a little, but I still get freezing.

Got rid of the stuttering by moving the game to a different SSD. The newer one causes stutters for some reason (maybe optimization issues?), but after transferring the game to the older SSD, everything runs fine now.

Solo (Bots, testing): Stutter, but no freezing
Regular matches: Stutter and freezing
Spectating matches: no stutter or freezing

My freezing issue seems to be related to the players somehow. I mostly freeze when approaching groups of enemies, doing AOE ults (like Seven's), doing slide dashes in combat, etc.

If you still have this issue, I want you to try installing process lasso, set it up to induce Bitsum Performance Mode to unpark your cores and get back to me. What is your CPU?

Ever since I have done this, I only get the occasional hitch or two that barely last half a second instead of consistent stutters every few minutes.
