This now happens to me as well on my Steam Deck OLED. Did you find a fix? It was working for me 12 hours ago and now has stopped working. It shows the deadlock logo spinning then black screen and the Steam deck restarts. Anyone else having this problem? What did you do to resolve it if you did?
No worries thanks for the info. I'll stick to how i've got it at the moment but if it stops working for some reason i'll try that out. Thanks!I primarily play on the Steam Deck, you may want to try these:
Verify your game files.
Try using proton.
Remove any launch options.
Add "-dx11" to your launch options.
Thanks for the info as it's good to know how it isn't working and hopefully the Deadlock/SteamOS devs will be able to fix the steam deck compatability soon but for now i'm running preview branch+proton GE as well.I have tested aswell and from what i can tell. vulkan render on steamos stable branch full crashes the display render/steamos gamemode or kde aswell as the game itself. Switching to dx11 fixes this, but gives worse performance. I have tested with ge and proton experimental on stable branch and both crash when passing -vulkan. On preview branch (only tested on ge) passing -vulkan does not give a crash. Protondb seems to also mention this crash, though it does not mention the fix of using ge + preview.
So to any others that come into this problem, i think adding -dx11 like terrorizeikea (or in general just changing the renderer to dx11 via some settings) or switching to preview steamos with proton ge can fix this issue, but it's not ideal. also firs time i ever saw a game full crash all vulkan rendering.
Testing for now on preview, vulkan seems to run smoother than dx11, especially in big fights with fsr3 enabled and some config tweaks (see the optimisationlock project)
