Steam client downloads break with the game installed

Steam for Linux public version 1721173382 (Jul 17).

Having the game installed turns Steam client into a deadlock. Literally.

All game downloads/updates cease to function, resulting in "No Internet Connection" and "Content Servers Unreachable" errors, until Deadlock is to be uninstalled and Steam client be relaunched.

For some mysterious reason, this resolved the issue in consequent Steam relaunches, so this happens inconsistently and may or may not linger in Client Beta too, but I wasn't the first to experience this as I noticed a discussion under Help and Tips.

I am also going to post this under Steam Client Beta forum in case it's more relevant there.

The current build is not oriented towards Linux. And it won't be for many months still. Give Windows a try.

The issue doesn't seem to be Linux-specific. The game itself appears to work, it's the Steam client being buggy, which may be the result of some misconfiguration on part of Deadlock team.

Furthermore, as this effects all downloads/updates, it renders the game unplayable as well as any other game that's been updated since the issue starts occurring.

I would like to apologize for my previous comment. It was written in the haste of being hungry and awaiting for meat to cook.
