SoulMaw, The Colossus Beast

Good afternoon, everyone! I’d like to present a hero concept I’ve been working on for Deadlock. His name is Soulmaw, a colossal monstrosity, Tank, and brawler. My main inspirations were Primal Beast’s high-impact kit and Tiny’s size progression from Dota 2, but adapted to the Noir atmosphere and verticality of Cursed Apple.

I feel that a monstrous character like this would be a great addition to the Deadlock universe.

[Weapon: Cold-Blood Killer]

Soulmaw delivers heavy punches that compress the air, creating potent kinetic impact blasts.

  • Playstyle: Short-range, high spread, ideal for lane control and close-quarters brawling.

Slams the ground in a cone, dealing Strike Damage and creating Unstable Ground.

  • Stamina Penalty: Enemies standing on Unstable Ground have their Stamina costs doubled (Dashes cost 2, Jumps cost 2, Double Jumps cost 4).
  • Airborne: If cast while in the air, Soulmaw performs a diagonal dash/dive before hitting the target area.

    • Visual: Grows from a muscular mobster (T0) to a colossal, primal beast (T3) with tattered clothes and heavy gold chains.
  • Active (Consume): Channel over a fallen hero's soul to instantly heal and confirm soul points.

[4] Uncrowned Fury (Ultimate)

Soulmaw lets out a global roar and enters a state of primal frenzy.

  • The Charge: Runs uncontrollably forward, slaming the ground while charging, dealing Strike Damage to all enemies in his path dealing Punch damage, follows the mouse cursor (W/S controls speed, A/D controls steering).
  • Buffs: Enhanced jump height and Health Regen per second based on how many enemies were hit during the charge.
  • Impact: Colliding with a wall (or his own terrain) creates a massive AoE shockwave and applies a self-slow due to the force of the impact.
