Slowing Hex can't be upgraded if all spirit slots are filled

you must either have a spirit slot open or a flex slot open when upgrading, this recent patch is the first time they had a item upgrade from health into spirit so its a bit ackward to buy if your slots are all full

Seems like the item system doesn't understand a green slot (and consequently, a flex slot) will be freed once Slowing Hex is bought. I hope this gets fixed soon since it wastes at least 250 souls to sell Enduring Spirit.
In that video, yamato is 24 minutes into the game. 250 souls is nothing at that point (assuming that buying slowing hex that late into that comp isn't already trollish).

The relative value of souls at the time doesn't matter, this is still a bug that causes a 1750 soul item to cost 2000. Besides, you've acknowledged that slowing hex is more frequently bought earlier in the game, where 250 souls is worth an entire medium neutral camp.

Yes, it is.

Buying Slowing Hex here should replace Enduring Spirit, freeing up a flex slot which can then be filled by Slowing Hex. This is how every other item with components works, but not here because this is the first item in the game with components from different categories. You don't need to sell Sprint Boots to buy Enduring Speed if all of your Vitality slots are filled.
