The bug that I've seen players abuse is the result of this clip plane not being extended or missing triangles where it should be. The best fix would be to extend this clip further beyond the unplayable map space. Additionally, you can re-code the clip plane to only work from one side and then add a trigger_push to force the player downwards. If the player pushes too far forward it should either kill the player or teleport them back to the center of the map of (0,0,0). The way that Halo 3 handled its way of clipping players was very unique in that it was hard to go out but easy to be forced back into the playspace.
