Lightning Scroll only works with Audience Participation if you are still the pink version of that hero when the damage is applied. This invalidates Lightning Scroll for the majority of the ultimates in the game. It can be very easily demonstrated with Ivy ult. If you throw the bomb and stay flying, Lightning Scroll works. If you cancel the ult and the bomb drops, no Lightning Scroll.
