i'd imagine it's going to get an entire recode, but still feels like complete ass as it is now.

Pretty clear whats happening here it just feels like ass. It should look for a suitable position closest to my raycast, not strictly below it. You can place assistant ontop of roofs without hitting the wall next to it only at extremely specific shallow angles

for whatever reason and you need to believe me when is say this but when i was in a game there was clearly enough range to place an assistant on the roof. Like savannah was visually there being all purple right where my cursor was. it's not in my rolling buffer as it was a week or so ago but i have the replay below. No clue what happened.

This is because your range is a sphere, the furthest point is the middle. If your aiming at an angle, your shortening your maximum range.
