So I have this character named Shugi, they've been with me for a while. I play a lot of tabletop RPGs, like Pathfinder. I always find myself gravitate to the Inventors and Artificers of those game, especially Inventor from PF2e. So I though to make a character loosely based some of the options from PF2e. Also some inspiration based around building up stacks and cashing out on procs. Focused on limiting enemy movements and sticking in the fight. Shamelessly made my fursona into a deadlock character.
I wrote this character up in like 20 mins on a long night, I just built something I think would be fun. Made a few changes while posting.Also apologize for the poorly cutout character art, I'm not super good with paint or krita and don't know how to cutout and make a transparent background.
Name: Shugi, The Frostbrawler - Scrapper, Cryogenic, Kobold
Lore: Shugi has always gotten into trouble due to their curiosity, often breaking into areas they shouldn't just to figure out what was inside. This curiosity eventually lead Shugi in finding a powerful orb that seemed to absorb the energy in the area around it, forming ice spontaneously.
Stealing from junkyards, hardware stores and mystics Shugi eventually put together their trusty pickaxe, Rockmuncher. Through their experimentation they were able to make the Cyrogenic Core manifest in more powerful ways than it normally did, but many questions remained. Where did the energy go? What is the Core's origin? The Patrons offer such knowledge.
P.S. They love rocks and minerals.
Size: Small like Rem for tunnel use.
Weapon: Rockmuncher, Close-Range (Similar to Drifter and Apollo)
Slow attacks, pickaxe shoots a small ice-cleave.
Light Melee - A small butt with the shaft of the pickaxe
Heavy Melee - They bite ankles
Abilities:
1.) Cryogenic Overload:
Charges - 2
Builds up charge by dealing damage with attacks, melees and ability damage. Exhaust all charges to release built up energy. Each charge increasing damage and radius. Applies a short, but potent slow and applies Frostbitten if at least two charges were used.
Frostbitten, which saps stamina and reduces stamina recharge.
Upgrades:
T1 - Increase Radius Per Charge
T2 - Cool Down Reduction
T3 - Frostbitten Duration and +1 Charge
2.) Condensing Impact:
Shugi leaps forward a short distance and slams down Rockmuncher, dealing spirit and melee damage, interrupting movement abilities and immobilizing enemies in the center of the impact in place. If the enemy is Frostbitten stun them instead and remove the Frostbitten condition.
T1 - Cool Down Reduction
T2 - Bonus damage on Frostbitten
T3 - Radius and Damage
3.) Digging Frenzy:
Shugi Empowers their pickaxe, adding a small spirit dmg aoe to their close-range attacks and melees. If attacking Frostbitten enemies, reduces the cool down on Cryogenic Overload and removes the Frostbitten Condition.
T1 - Cool Down Reduction
T2 - Frostbitten Target Heals Shugi
T3 - Duration and Cool Down Refund increased
4.) What Does This Lever Do?: After a brief cast time as Shugi pulls levers and turns knobs. Their abilities become temporarily boosted, each one throwing eruptions of ice after a short delay, targeting nearby enemy heroes, dealing additional damage. Enemies struck by the eruptions become Frostbitten.
T1 - Ice Eruption Radius Increase
T2 - Cool Down Reduction
T3 - If Shugi is hit by an eruption, they launch into the air and slam into the ground dealing damage. (Wile E. Coyote or Loony Tunes style crash animation)
