Shrines inconsistently block abilities

Shooting abilities (both friendly and enemy) through a shrine sometimes blocks the ability, but at some angles, they can pass through and damage.
Yamato's power slash visually goes through the shrine but does not deal damage to those on the other side.
Friendly bullets always go through shrines.
