Thematic Inspiration: Barry the Chopper (Fullmetal Alchemist), Pudge (Dota 2), Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre)
Mechanical Inspiration: Huskar/Centaur Warrunner - tanky sustainable frontliner with solid manfight potential
Gun: whetstone and meat cleaver, fires projectiles (sparks) by sharpening cleaver. reload animation could be fetching a new whetstone while admiring the cleaver's condition
abilities are directly inspired by spells from Dota 2, shown in brackets
1 - Vacuum Chop (nuke) [Magnus - Shockwave]
thin vertical skillshot with a brief windup cast time. struck targets are slightly pulled towards the butcher. higher damage at point blank, more pullback at tip range.
potential upgrades:
T1: -firerate to targets
T3: Cooldown reduction
T5: +damage, lifesteal on hit
2 - Gut (CC, utility) [Centaur - Double Edge]
deal melee? damage in a wide horizontal line in front of the butcher, harms butcher. slows ( shape---> •|)
potential upgrades:
T1: +1 charge
T3: Disarm/Silence
T5: Current HP% damage (to self also)
3 - Bloodsoaked (passive) [Huskar - Berserker's Blood]
increase fire rate and melee damage? spirit resist? as health gets lower
potential upgrades:
T1: Return effect (damage attackers)
T2: Spirit resist? melee damage?
T3: Max HP% heal when nearby unit dies? (less for creeps)
alt T3: HP regen based on missing health
4 - Killing Time (status) [Oracle - False Promise (selfcast)]
apply a limited time buff to the butcher: damage and healing are delayed until the end of the duration. healing received is doubled.
T1: +resist during (spirit or bullet)
T2: debuff remove on use
T3: +duration
alternatively: [Abaddon - Borrowed Time]
damage taken is converted to healing for the duration. debuff removes on use.
T1: -cooldown (high initial cd)
T2: +duration
T3: can be cast during CC (except silence)
issues:
• 1 and 2 maybe too similar to Yamato's kit, but are intended to be harder to land (Chop is thinner than Power Slash with more of a cast animation than a charge-and-release, Gut is shorter but wider than Crimson Slash, allowing for potential skillshots via rotating one's view to hit a distant target by aiming sideways
• chomping too much victor flavor vis a vis survival frontliner? stayed away from a Rot-like ability to avoid stepping on Aura of Suffering's toes
