Sharpshooter / Long Range does not add damage to Viscous' Puddle Punch

As the title says. The generic weapon damage bonus (based on distance from the target), from Long Range / Sharpshooter does not correctly add damage to Puddle Punch

(Sorry about the previous iteration of the thread, I misremembered something.)

It should match parity with Close Quarters / Point Blank, as it is still a (ranged) melee attack that should be boosted from generic weapon damage conversion based on distance.

Any conditional weapon damage with the exception of Hollow Point is not added into any ability that is also considered melee. This is not explained anywhere and is not a bug.

Berserker adds damage properly to Bashdown (from Billy), and Puddle Punch.
It is also a generic weapon damage increase (that is conditional), just like Close Quarters or Sharpshooter
Both use distance calculations from your own hero to the enemy, so it stands to reason Sharpshooter should generically boost Puddle Punch's damage when a target is 15m or beyond from Viscous himself.

So through extrapolation, either Long Range / Sharpshooter is not set up to add itself to melee damage, since Viscous is the only way currently to melee someone beyond 15m, or its the tooltip not explaining a very weird exception to something very niche.

(As an aside, the melee damage tool tip from abilities themselves do not properly update the damage values visually when gaining stacks from Berserker, but that is a tooltip issue.)

Why would it not be a bug, especially considering Hollow Point works.

This is a valid report, let devs decide whether it's a bug or not.
You real? This has been in the game since forever. If it actually was a bug, and it has already been lifted many times before, why would they have ignored it for over 2 years? It's not a bug. Just because bullet resistance also works for melee resistance but is not explained, because it's a playtest alpha, it's a bug? Same thing.

Once again. The report is valid. Nobody but the devs decide whether it should be changed or not. But it's unintuitive behavior and has all the good reasons to be reported as bug.

By this same logic though, bullet resist shred boosts melee damage; melee is also scaled by 50% of weapon damage, and, according to combat logs, melee is bullet damage.

Its just melee is also melee damage on top of being (a type of, but also fully, in terms of game logic), bullet damage. It means you can specialize bullet and melee resistance vs melee.
