Sandbox mode abandoning penalty bug

I queued for match then went to sandbox for testing while waiting for the match but it queued me right after i pressed sandbox mode so it counts me as im in the actual match instead of the sandbox map. Eventually i pressed "Abandon match with penalty" button then i got banned.

This just happened to me. I completely exited out of the game and re-entered which allowed me to re-join the match like normal.
