REplacing upgraded items

If I go to replace and upgraded item, the second stage item will sell but leave the base item behind, negating the purchase. Maybe this is intended and not a bug, and I find little use case for the scenario save for build crafting in sandbox, but I have noticed it in matches a couple times, mostly when every second counts and I need a quick buy.

I can confirm this. I've actually made the mistake of going out with the lower-tier item and only realizing it later in a fight.
