Active effect does not benefit from cooldown reduction.​


Probably one of my more outlandish concepts so far.

I've also been organizing lists of items from this subforum to post on the private subforums. Those have gotten quite a decent amount of views from valve developers so far. I encourage everyone reading this to do the same.

The ones marked "Gameplay Feedback (Private)". I've been collecting concepts that I like from this board, compiling them into a big list, and sending them to that forum. Most of them got views, which means that somebody at Valve at least opened them up and read them. I really want more community items to get added into the game, so I do this in order to show the developers that the player base wants more items. I'm sure that they appreciate reading those threads over yet another complaint about balancing, or that stupid matchmaking thread where feeders go to complain about other feeders.

everything ive put into the private ones have gotten a min of 2 views every time. Most of that feedback has also made it into the game too. So they definitely are taking in feedback from us through those channels.

that being said, i hope you put mine in there lol. My one and only item suggestion.
 
With the active on this one;

I do agree that the -2 Stamina is overkill and it seems a little spammy to me for no real reason. Personally, I'd reduce it to -1 stamina (since that seems likely part of the item concept you want to keep), increase the Cooldown to something like 16s, Duration increased to something like 6-8s, and add this rider:

Confirming souls while this is on cooldown reduces remaining Cooldown by 1s each.

Suddenly you have a really cool item that does come at a Stamina cost, but if you're constantly farming/getting kills you will consistently be regenerating stamina quickly and getting lots of bonus M/S.

That said, I'm not sold on this being necessary given the changes to Sprint Speeds. I think Sprint boots makes this mostly unnecessary for move speed/sprint speed and the penalty to Stamina is ULTRA situational.
 
New items got added to the dev console, so I am going through my previous concepts for some housekeeping.

If this was made today:
  • I would reduce it to -1 stamina
  • The movespeed bonus goes from a flat bonus to a percentage bonus.
  • Get rid of the percent stamina recovery and replace it with something else (move or sprint speed most likely)
I am also considering the additions from the post above. I don't think that 8 seconds is very spammy, or the sprint changes cause it to be obsolete.
