Ranked much higher than I should be, please reset ranks for returning players

I am getting stomped nonstop, back to back to back to back games. It's incredibly demoralizing. I do not understand why I am Arcanist III. I have won 1 game of the 8 games I have played upon returning. It's at the point where I don't really want to play the game anymore since its just getting beat down nonstop.

Same issue here, I was just beginning to understand the game after an already long slog of an uphill battle of coming in DAY ONE being matched against people who had hundreds of hours on this game already, finally filtered them out after playing ~100 matches and it started to put me against people MY SKILL LEVEL then they do this and it's JUST BACK TO DAY ONE stomping again, it feels exactly the same and I've made functionally *ZERO* progress.

It's so awful to play. At this point I could be AFK and I would have the same experience as actually trying in a match.

It's actually somewhat refreshing to hear this from the other end of the spectrum. The matchmaking is completely and utterly broken currently. It is among the worst I've seen in any game claiming to be competitive.

I was Ascendant 3 before stopping for several months and got placed in Ritualist 2. I absolutely and utterly destroy people I play against in lane, but then the match continues to devolve into this chaotic mess of nobody teamplaying. I am far too good for the rank I am in but also have a hard time climbing back to where I actually belong.

This blade cuts both ends: players who are new will get stuck in a rank too high for far too long, as converse the same goes for players who are too good. The MM needs way more elaborate heuristics than just win/lose to solve this issue or the middle of the bellcurve is going to remain a perpetual shitshow like it is now.

Just keep propagating this. Valve doesn't care about anyone, but if there is a group of people they SHOULD be caring about it is the new players. If they can't attract new audience the game is already one foot in the grave. Matchmaking needs to be reworked.

I have had archon players put in to pad out ascendant games and they just go 0-14 and the game is ruined. They're out of their element and need to be able to enjoy the game with people their own skill level. Take the time to make proper matches. People would prefer that.

Exactly this, people say "just get better? lol" but it's not realistic. It's like throwing a child into the deep end of the pool and when they drown you just go "lol just swim better?" it's not practical at all, as progression comes from going at a pace that matches YOUR level and learning from there.

It's exactly how I feel now, I can't learn anything about the game because every match is just an overload of constantly getting bombarded from every angle, so ALL I am learning is just "If I show up in lane I should leave immediately from the 1st minute because I'm getting outclassed" - I don't get to practice trading patterns or anything

Completely agree, i went back to playing bot matches until they fix this shit. i was Rit V, and then i just started getting teammates going 0 and 10.
