when queuing leech, two components show up, meaning you often lose soul value for buying one item

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. Leech is made from bullet lifesteal + spirit lifesteal. They cost 1600 each. Leech costs 6400. If you have one of them leech costs 4800. If you have both it costs 3200. You don't lose anything.

At worst it's just an annoyance if you dont want to build one of the lifesteals before going leech (like when you need slots), at best it works out well because having both spirit and bullet lifesteal makes leech 3200 when you have the slot to spare.
