Queued in wrong server

I queued up for a match and noticed my ping was over 300 constantly. I checked what server it put me on and I was in a hong kong server. I'm located on US East. I'm not sure why it did this but I had to abandon due to not being able to play the game through the lag and choppiness of 300+ ping.

same thing with me, noticed the 170 ping never went down so i checked and i was at NA (im from SA)
i was kelvin here and everyone was a NA player, its impossible to play with 170 ping basically but i tried till the end
