Pyroness lore & design: [Not written] Something relating to both Infernus and McGinnis since she is a flamethrower wielding mechanic-like character
I hope deadlock devs add a flamethrower character for the Rumble mains from League and Pyro mains from Tf2, so Pyroness is here to fill that hole (along with her vertical mobility tended towards the Deadlock map). She is essentially a mobile support-like character who can both buff teammates and deal a lot of damage with her flames.
Gun: A burst fire nail gun that shoots in 3 (like Lash's gun but the bullet velocity is slower). She has an alt-fire that fires a shotgun of nails but uses more ammo.
Abilities:
(1) Flamethrower: Shoots a short cone of fire in front of her for a [? duration], enemies who linger in the flames for too long gets burned (similar to Infernus burn). Allies who are hit get healed. Gun cannot be used during this time.
(2) Oil Spill: Shoot a long stream of oil forward for a [short duration], enemies hit directly or walking on oil will be slowed. The oil can be ignited by using her flamethrower on the ground or on the enemy.
- If enemy gets ignited then they will be burned immediately
- If allies get directly ignited then they will immediately have healing for the duration of burn.
- If allies walk on the ignited oil spill path, they will also heal (does not stack with previous) + they have increased movement speed
I imagine this ability to shoot out similarly to the "explosive goo gun" from Fortnite where it can be shot far away but gravity makes it flop downwards, this also lingers on the ground for a while waiting to be ignited.
(3) Jetpack [Passive]: Holding [JUMP] will allow her to fly with her jetpack for a [? duration] -> fuel quickly depletes as jetpack is used but recharges slowly over time
(4) Fire Within [ultimate]: Pyroness radiates a pulsing flaming aura at a certain tempo that extends is a 360 degree radius but in a short distance (similar to Kayo ult from Valorant but at a much shorter distance). This ability can also ignite Oil Spill.
- Enemies hit: burn effect gets charged up very quickly.
- Allies hit: Provides a fire rate buff & replenishes a stamina bar for every pulse of fire along with any barriers missing.
- Self buff: Applies the above buffs to herself as well
Combos:
- You can ignite her Oil Spill with both Flamethrower and Fire Within
- Specific item pairings:
(1) Any duration extender items
(2) Healing Tempo + Flamethrower/ignited Oil Spill
(3) Phantom Strike + Flamethrower + Fire Within = Scary assassin-like potential -> Scourge can even be added on top of this
(4) Jetpack flight (in the air) + Rescue Beam
- Firing her nail gun and flying in her Jetpack makes her a scary character when in the sky.
- Fire Within constantly recharging her stamina + [duration items + Jetpack] + [Extended ability range items + Flamethrower] + Superior Stamina = constantly dashing in mid air with her flamethrower out (kinda like Kelvin's Ice Beam + Ice Path combo but shorter range & wider reach). When Fire Within is used along with her Jetpack she looks like a mini sun in the sky (lol).
Problems with her kit:
- I was thinking her burn should be different from Infernus's burn and cannot stack/replenish Infernus's burn since that combo would be too OP. So maybe her flames and overall design can have a different colour of flames? but that might allow for more unwanted visual clutter especially for a hero ability, with all colours of the rainbow already in the game from other hero abilities & active items.
- Her ignited Oil Spill & burn cannot do as much damage as Infernus or else she would be too OP and too much like a DPS character.
- Her ignited Oil Spill cannot be too similar to the residue of Flame Dash by Infernus -> have the Oil Spill cover a thinner line with a different visual effect since it also provides buffs to herself & allies.
