Pressing F24 while in party freezes the game and crashes Steam

I have mapped one of my mouse buttons as F24 to use it as push to talk in Discord. When I'm in a party pressing it freezes the game and Steam crashes. This started happening today. Yesterday and before the game was fine when I pressed the button. I use CachyOS and updated it today in case it is relevant.

I found older bug reports which sound very similar:

Thread 'Pressing the Japanese Yen key (while in a party) instantly crashes Steam, and causes Deadlock to hang.'

I can share the crashdumps to the devs.

Bug is as the title describes, and crucially, only works when you are in a party.
Certain Japanese keyboards have a dedicated "Yen" button...

Thread 'Pressing F13 crashes Deadlock + Steam only while in a party on Linux'

If I am in a party and press F13 the game and Steam crash. This only happens when I am in a party. I only experience this bug on Linux. I tested this on a Windows device and the bug does not happen.

I use a foot pedal for push to talk in discord, this is what is sending the F13 key press.

Same here. EndevourOS KDE.

Scenario 1:

1. Load Deadlock. You're in hangout.
2. Press F24
   - No problems
   

Scenario 2:

1. Load Deadlock. You're in hangout.
2. Invite someone to the party
3. Invite accepted, other player in the party
4. Press F24
   - Steam crashes and Deadlock freezes

Having the same exact issue as described above, only using Caps Lock with the "Caps Lock is disabled" setting in KDE. Interestingly, the buttons I have bound on my keyboard for F20 and F21 did not crash the game, only caps lock, and only with that setting enabled.
