Pressing crouch/slide key resets sprint buildup in any context

To start, this is how sprint works as far as I am aware:

A character's maximum run speed out of combat is Move Speed + Sprint Speed.

When a character starts running while out of combat, if their Sprint Speed is less than 3m/s, they start at Move Speed + Sprint Speed.
If their Sprint Speed is more than 3m/s, they start at Move Speed + 3m/s and accelerate at a rate of +1m/s per second until they reach Move Speed + Sprint Speed.

This is clearly shown in the first clip, where Paige walks in a straight line: Paige's Move Speed is 7m/s. She starts running at 10m/s, and accelerates up to 15.2m/s.
(For context, Paige's base movement speed is 7m/s and her base sprint is 4m/s. Sprint Boots is +2.2m/s sprint, and Heroic Aura is +2m/s sprint. So her maximum speed is 7 + 4 + 2.2 + 2 = 15.2m/s.)

Run speed is maintained and builds up as long as any directional input is held, even if the character is running into a wall. This is shown in the second clip.

This works when mid-air or propelled by a vent, as shown in the third clip. (Even when Paige looks stationary in front of the wall, I am still holding the forward key until the run speed resets.)

Run speed is maintained when wall jumping and dashing, shown in the fourth clip where I traverse the map. Again, the only condition is holding a directional input[1].

Run speed is maintained when mantling, shown in the fifth clip. And when climbing a wall with a wall jump and mantle, shown in the sixth clip.

But, when sliding, the character's run speed is instantly reset. See the seventh clip.

A downdash also resets run speed, shown in the eighth clip.

The strangest result is the final clip. I held the backwards key mid-air, and the run speed still builds up, as expected. But even tapping the crouch/slide key mid-air will reset the run speed, despite the character performing no visible action. I pressed the key once in the air and once on the ground (the latter causing Paige to slide), and both times it reset the run speed.

While the last result is clearly a bug, I think that sliding/downdash resetting run speed may also be a bug. It's a significant hinderance to movement regardless.

[1]: Technically run speed is reset when holding forward and backward since the combination has no effect, but otherwise the statement is true.
